According to ATI Tool, I can unlock four additional rendering pipelines on my Radeon 9800 SE. It gives me a link to softmod.techpowerup.com, but I don't know how I'm supposed to install the mod.

http://www.techpowerup.com/softmod/downloads.php

I've downloaded the "Patched ati2mtag.sys (9500 -> 9700 and 9800SE -> 9800)", and then did a search for "ati2mtag.sys" on my HDD. The results were as follows...

C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386\ati2mtag.sys (685 kb)
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\ati2mtag.sys (1,736 kb)
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ReinstallBackups\0000\DriverFiles\ati2mtag.sys (729 kb)
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ReinstallBackups\0001\DriverFiles\ati2mtag.sys (1,736 kb)

Am I supposed to replace one of those files? If so, which one am I supposed to replace, and what do I do afterwards?

See there the same, just copy it and see how it goes. If not than go in safe mode and uninstall the drivers and reinstall again :)

Or you can do This

Find A BIOS from someone that has a 9800SE unlocked already than Dump the BIOS from ati tool, Floppy it, flash it on your computer done...!
**Make sure the BIOS you get it from has the same Core / Memory "Speed" has yours**

Let me know how it goes

I've already tried replacing all four files. Nothing happened even after I rebooted the computer. =/
I say you find A 9800SE BIOS that's been unlocked.

http://www.neowin.net/forum/lofiversion/index.php/t250858.html

I found that on google, but if your memory Isn't 256-bit than you can't Flash it to an 9800Pro/XT since they both use 256-bit memory unless you edit the BIOS to use 128-bit and that's hard to do ;)

Here is what I typed on Google:
