Smile socket 8. help

I am not sure but was Shocet 8. for Pentiume 2. CPUs
And di it have its L1. and L2. Chashe onboard the CPU???

socket 8 is just the predecessor of slot 2

So it was a Pentiume 2. CPU and it did have L1 and L2 on the CPU.

But did this one have L3 on the motherboard

It nots exactly for pentium 2. Its for the overdrive and pro. I dont think you can just stick a regular P2 into a socket 8

And by the looks of it the l1 and l2 cache is on the CPU. Im not sure about the L3.

As soon as they had the Pentium MMX CPUs out, everything up has L1 and L2. Now, Slot 2s are used for PIII Xeons, PIIs are used on Slot 1 systems.
