yeah i run a 2600+ socket A works perfect for me, just make sure you get urself a good motherbaord alright? i would suggest something like an Abit Nf7-s or or Abit AN7 theres also the gigabyte option aswell but i am unfermilliar with them so i couldnt help you there. Some socket a motherboards only run 333 ram and fsb you see not matter what the cpu or ram also some dont have Sata
