Default slow and turns off

My PC's specs are:

Windows XP SP2
Intel Pentium 4 processor
2 GB ram(new)
Nvidia 6600GT Grapics Card
320 GB Hard Drive Space(new)
p4mam2-v motherboard with integrated sound card

My computer turns off at various times and is very slow

We primarily use the computer for Video editing and gaming if that helps

P.S. did spyware and virus check and cleaned the dust out of the PC

Can you tell us your CPu temps?

You can download speed fan, or everest if you don't have a program already.
