I ran XP Home fine with 256MB of RAM... but it could definitely be because of startup items.

yep , luckyi can as well cos i had my maths exam the other week
also i ran xp pro on my old laptop on 256mb ram and it ran fine but i didnt have any startup items and no firewall or antivirus cos it wasnt connected to the internet
