Ok wait a minute. I always thought if you have two PCI-e x16 slots, SLi is enabled automatically when you bridge any two SLi supported video cards.

So we're all better off getting the new Nvidia 600 series supported boards? If we want to use the full SLi technology, that is. I want the max. x16 x16--like this board here:

ASUS P5N32-E SLI Socket T (LGA 775) NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131073

this one also runs on full speed too:

EVGA 122-CK-NF68-AR Socket T (LGA 775) NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813188009

That one looks so beautiful--I almost want to buy it right now.

Thing is, Nvidia decided to be bastards and make the 8800GTX (not sure about GTS) SLi compatable only with x16 x16, but hopefully a hacked driver can fix that problem. So if you want to SLi G80s, you need a 680i board. But hell, if you have enough money, might as well wait for the DFI 680i board or get the ASUS striker.

I'm looking to get any one of those. I just got promoted to working full time beginning in January 07 (was working only 4 hours per day before) at my work so money is coming in. Since it's late night, I also get a 5% late shift differential on top of my max pay. Yesss!!!!!!

I smell a new build soon in 07 when the paycheck start to come in.

Here's another article saying that Nvidia did fix that particular problem, but....
