do the cards have to have the same mem and clock speeds... cuz im gunna SLI eventually but i dont have the money right now.... and when i do i donjt wanna have to go through all this if newegg discontinues my card... im getting a MSI 7900GTX with 650/1600 clock speeds so if i were to get another would it have to be the same cuz i know some companies are +-25 mhz on some things

It has to be the same exact card, 6800gs and 6800gs, 6600gt and 6600gt, 7900gtx and 7900gtx. Manufacturers don't matter.. One 6800gs could be evga while the other is XFX.

6800gs and 6800gt will NOT work because, obviously they aren't the same card.

Newegg has an Albatron PC6800GT Geforce 6800GT for $229.99. You can always cruise the for sale forums or eBay for one too.
