restart the router and the broadband modem(i will explain below). that should fix it, some of them collect a cache (or so i have heard) and you need to clear it which will make it faster. All you have to do to clear it is unplug the router and modem (from the power outlet) wait 30 seconds and plug the MODEM in, then wait another 30 sec. and plug the ROUTER in.
that seems to have helped quite a lot, i'll give it a few days and see if it stays like this otherwise i'll come back
