So I have a Shuttle Computer.
I want to put a Ati x1600 pro agp into my sytem. The problem is that my PSU is only 250 watts and I'm already running 2 SATA harddrives, a dvd-r, and a ati 9550 in addition to a Intel 2.8 HT. The x1600 has a additional power plug. I cannot use standard power supplies as they do not fit within the microcase. Shuttle has a new PC 50 300 watt PSU for sale.
I was wondering do I need to upgrade my power or can I run the x1600 without power issues on a 250watt Shuttle PSU?
A number of people have said that they ran similar systems but with Nvidia 6800s to 7900s without power problems on 250 watt PSUs. And many swear that Shuttle Custom PSU are actually rated for far more then their stated value.
Anyone with experience with this, specifically Shuttle Power Supplies?
