shutdown problem

hehe okay. As for the shutting down problem. Have you got any USB devices plugged in? Modems that carry on flashing? Try taking these out and try to shut down. If it persists, I'd do a format, and since a game won't work either.

ill get computergen to look at my programs that are open to figure out if i got any problem software...should i try running spybot and ad-aware in safe mode?

Yeah you could try doing that. I'd be able to delete ones that it might not while Windows is running.

Went onto my dads drive today and had to delete about 60 sources of spyware from his machine! two crashed the program too and closed it off, so i had to manually delete these, and then some wouldn't delete. Safe mode fixed this.

Yep! Hope this solves it, though it might not be that causing it, but worth a try

ok i did it and ad-aware found 18 things and spybot found like 6 or 7, then i restarted and did safe mode again and ad-aware found 2 more things. i hope this fixes it
