Default Should i upgrade my CPU?

I was thinking about upgrading my CPU to something more powerful. Can anyone suggest a best in slot CPU that will fit? thank you!

Here's my specs:

CPU: AMD FX(tm)-6100 6 cores 95W at 3.7 ghz
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3
Ram: 16gb
GPU: AMD Radeon R9 290 4gb
Power: Corsair CX600

Yeah, I would upgrade your CPU. Your current CPU is pretty mid range, and you have a very high end GPU. I would upgrade to an AMD FX 8350.

If you really want to upgrade, that seams like a solid CPU.

Can i ask why you feel like upgrading?

Yes it will work with your current board GIGABYTE TECHNOLOGY Socket AM3+ - AMD 970 - GA-970A-UD3 (rev. 1.0/1.1). The FX 8350 beats it in most benchmarks done by CPUBoss AMD FX 8350 vs 6100
