Question Should I upgrade?

hello, I have an acer laptop, 2ghz amd quad core, 4gb RAM, windows 7 64-bit. I was thinking about upgrading to 8gb, would this give me a worth while benefit?
Also, on the front of my laptop it says up to 2175mb HyperMemory. What does this mean, its somthing to do with the graphics card

Cheers

i think that means it's giving your graphics chip 2175mb of your system memory to use for graphics processing. If your GPU uses system RAM (dedicated or shared), upgrading to a higher amount of RAM might be a good idea.

Cheers. If i were to play a high quality game (graphically), would having more ram make the game run smoother as the gpu can use more shared memory?

well, if your GPU is using 2175mb of your RAM, meaning you only have 2GB free for your system to use.

having 8GB would mean even if 2GB was being used by the GPU, you'd still have 6GB system RAM available.

this is provided you have a 64-bit OS, otherwise having anything more than 4GB isn't usable.
