The DDR400.. is the latency i guess. 400mhz is the speed of the ram.

No the latency is 2.5T (2-3-3-7) ithink it says.

corsair XMS ram is quite good

well patriot ram is not bad. Though something like corsairs XMS is better.

And basicly the lower the timings the better. That's all u need to know, if u want to know what each of those numbers mean then use wikipedia.
And CAS (= cas latency = cl) is the 1st number in the timings. Again, if u want to know more use wikipedia.
