Default Should I downgrade my mobo?

I am currently planning on buying a asus sabertooth z77 motherboard, but I am starting to have second thoughts since I don't know what the pluses are to spending 30-40$ on the sabertooth. I would downgrade my mobo and use the extra money so I could upgrade my video card from a Geforce GTX 650 ti to a 660. I am getting 16 gbs of ram and an intel Intel Core i5-3570K Ivy Bridge cpu. Any responses would be greatly appreciated.
