Sharpie on DVD-R Verbatim?

Is it okay to label VERBATIM DVD-R discs with regular sharpie markers? Will they mess anything up or will I be ok?

I use the DVD-Rs as backups of my other DVDs, burned through CloneDVD, so none of them are used for Data, just Video.

sharpies are ok because they are felt tip... i dont know what you mean by verbatim

Its just the brand of media that i use -- so the sharpies will not effect the DVD quality? (like leak through or anything)

as long as you dont write on the side that has data written on it...

i'm going to switch to using fine point sharpie permanent markers soon....i bought this pack of 4 memorex "cd markers" which work really poorly. they write really light on the cd's/dvd's where you can hardly read them. they had "safe" and "waterbased ink" listed on the package, so i thought that's what you needed to write on cd's/dvd's, but after trying them, i'm just going to use a sharpie.

I write with a "Vivid" lol permanet marker
