setting up a wireless connection to a laptop

Anybody please help asap. My mate has just got a dell laptop for her son, and she hasnt got a clue as to how to set up the wireless connection from her pc to the laptop. The laptop is a Dell with windows millennium as the package. She has a Belkin wireless router/modem and a belkin usb adaptor with a belkin network card and a usb lead. Can someone please put me out of my misery and email her with really easy to follow step by step instructions on how to connect the router to her modem and configure the connections, i have tried to explain but im not that hot on this subject and she is really starting to push buttons.
