Set up Mic failure on PC.

What version of windows are you running?

Windows 7.
I unistalled the sound drive and reinstalled it.No change.Don't know what else to do.

Right on the speaker icon in the tray > Select recording devices > Select the mic icon > Set as default device > Click apply > Click ok

It was set as default device but went through the steps again.Still no change.Could it be something to do with the external connections or the hardware inside the computer?,maybe something is loose.Because i seemed to have tried everything else at this stage.

But actually when i unmute microphone in the speaker volume panel i can hear the mic through my own speakers.
