Default Services turning off unvoluntarily!

Some services are being turned off on my lap top by themselves and I don't know why! I noticed the computer has been behaving a little differently than usual (ie. start button and start menu have changed colors and format)

I have recently restored it to manufacture settings due to a virus and now this is going on. Among the services that get turned off is Norton Internet security (auto protect). Which makes me wonder if I can navigate safely online.

Anybody know what's going on? Thanks a lot!

Sounds like you still have a virus on there. Try running hijackthis, or try using a decent AV product instead of norton.

the colours and format are most likely cause by the themes style being turned off?

(they go from the nice blue/green to the old style grey buttons).

try looking at the event log to see if you can figure out why the services are failing.
(start -> run -> eventvwr)

APplication, security, system and media center have error records, it says..How do I fix that? I guess restoring to manufacture settings didn't work so what else can I do? Reinstall windows again? Which would piss me off! =)

Look up Hijackthis on the website: http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/programs.php

Download and then install it. Run the program and you will get a log file of its description of your start processes. Don't delete anything yet, but copy and paste the log onto this thread and we can analyze it for you and tell you what should be deleted. Be warned that deleting the wrong thing can seriously damage the computer.

Thanks! The log is pretty large but here you go. I appreciate it.
