Ok, I have this windows 2000 machine, and I was fed up with windows 2000. So I was going to put XP PRO on it, I put in the CD, boot from CD, I put it on the same partition, so I could have windows 2000 as well. It gets into the setup process, asks me for my product key, which I have, legally, its stuck on the box, and it says PRODUCT KEY BLOODY INVALID! GRR.
I didnt like it so I switch the PC off.
Come to switch it back on, and instead of the windows 2000 boot screen, the xp one comes up, goes back into setup and tries to carry on installing.
"Windows Cannot find the setup disc, specify location and try again.
Is there any way of getting it how it was. Ive got the HDD from it, on this computer as a slave.
What can I do?
