I sent for a new hdd 120 ide, but what arrived was a 120 serial, now not having delt with these I thought yes I would keep it for my new build, so a friend of mine took it to test as I could not, he now says I would be better with a ide hdd, he'll keep mine and get me another ide one! am I being dupt?

I can't remmember how a Serial Connects to the Computer? I know its different to a SCSI; but I can't remmember the difference to a IDE?

I think you would need an IDE controller to take a Serial. So if you have one, you would be better off with a serial. If not, a standard IDE would do fine.
I think your friend is looking to take the faster drive!

I thought same of my friend, on thinking about it I will install it in my new build.thanks to you both. hyperthread :)
