Second Hard Drive Install Help

Just bought a new Dell Inspiron 530. It comes with one hard drive that's 500GB. I want to install a WD2500KS SATA drive.

Problem is they installed the first hard drive in the wrong spot. The extra power cable/cords won't reach to the second drive slot... so... I need to move the first hard drive down one slot. Also, the first drives Sata cord is plugged into the motherboard where their manual says a second hard drive's cord should be.

So my question is, if I just physically move the first drive and keep everything plugged the way it is... then install the second & use the open Sata connection on the mobo... will that screw up anything in Vista or does it not really matter.

I'm confused so I can try to clarify if necessary!

Thx.

Yes, if you only move the current drive down one spot and leave everything connected the way it is, it will be fine.

Vista will still boot normally and it should recognize the new drive at startup.
