wats a good program
that will let me take pictures and videos
of any thing i use like desktop games and programs

Not sure if it works for normal desktop recording, but I know it works for games, it's called Fraps. Check it out:

If you have Xfire, that can take screen shots too. Doesn't look like it does videos though.
