Default Sata II HD

Would there be a difference in performance if I installed my Windows 64bit Operating System on a Sata II Disk Drive (10,000rpm) rather than an old Sata Drive (unknown?) at 7,200rpm?

The RAM will be most beneficial, but the extra RPM of the hard drive should help.

Is it the X version?
