Default Sapphire HD 5870 2GB.....equal cards

i currently have this card (Sapphire HD 5870 2GB) and was wondering what newer cards that are cheaper would be comparable in performance? without the 500 dollar price tag

For $300 you can get about a 30% increase with the GeForce GTX 480. Are you having problems with your current card or do you just feel like an upgrade?

So you want to find a graphic card that is cheaper and comparable in performance to your current expensive gpu?
are you building another computer?
no. I did a quick research, and I couldn't find anything. If it were up to me, I always go for a cheaper graphic card that has settled down in price.
gtx 450, maybe? obviously not shoulder to shoulder performance with your radeon, though.
