He already said he is getting a new case, CPU, PSU and Mobo

Not overly sure about the mobo. I assume it was proprietary..they weren't made to be upgraded back then. Mine died a few years back ...was using it as a spare computer for a while then I just dumped it. Caused me nothing but trouble.

To be honest, you might as well build a whole new computer. You're already gonna be replacing almost all the parts, so for an extra $100 you'll have a whole new computer.

Not sure about mobo size but I know that the risers were actual lugs which were part of the case so it's probably a wise choice not to use it as there are no other holes in the case to screw new risers into if they don't line up.
same here until i switched out the psu and burnt it out

That's probably why you should always purchase a computer through their business division. You don't get this type of crap.

OK. I am forgetting the old computer. I will use its hard drive (maybe) its psu (maybe) it's floppy drive, and its DVD drives.

So I am wondering if this will fly.

Motherboard-http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813186129
CPU-http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819116039
I might overclock the CPU.

As for overclocking, I am thinking maybe picking up one of these, it looks decent.

And of course some arctic silver 5.

But the CPU FSB is 800mhz and the mobo is only 533...will this be a problem?

Yes, the CPU and motherboard will be an issue. If it was the other way around, it'd not be a big deal but the CPU will not be able to down-clock itself to match the motherboard.

@ "Iwant a laptop" ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Spend the extra $30 and get a Pentium Dual Core E2160. Those celerons are a SERIOUS NO-NO! DONT GET A CELERON. PLEASE. ITS A STUPID PURCHASE, the Dual-Cores are almost the same price (just ask Google "shopping") get one of those.

i know celeron's have improved greatly, but they still don't stack up at all to a Pentium Dual Core (and no i dont mean PD, i mean the new Pentium-Dual Cores, which are basically underclocked/stripped down Core2Duos).

Heres an E2160 at $55.
http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?p=E21...a2a9319e08c530

If you really wanna overclock, you're gonna need a better mobo and ram (probably), but if you do indeed do that, you'll see the E2160 is one HELL of an overclocker (it can beat an E6700 when its at 3.2).

even if you dont overclock, screw the Celeron - and get the Dual-Core.
