Lightbulb Running XP from External Hard Drive

Simple question.............

Can you run XP from a USB external Hard Drive?
If so, how would you do this?

Thanks..........

Haha, if they supported it, it wold be stupid anyways. USB's transfer rates are too slow for it to be a connection medium. between the HDD and motherboard.

Linux works fine this way (I've used it for 6 months no problem), no reason XP wouldn't work either.
MS just needs to support it.

A firewire boot would be good..for any OS..linux only runs fast enough, because of the size of it..

Some machines will let you install windows from a USB port, but won't load an OS from it. they are correct in saying that it does'nt support usb loading.
