Default Is rubbing alcohol conductive?

Is it generally safe to use to clean components?

Yeah, you're pretty safe with it. Just cut off the stuff and let it dry before you power up and you'll be fine. What are you cleaning?

My roommate is OCD and cleaned his Mac with it a bunch, it wore off some of the finish. Just fyi. Be careful with it.

Some thermal residue off the CPU / Heatsint. I took it off a few days ago, and used water and a towel to clean the bulk of it off. >_>

it dries pretty fast, ive used it before without anything bad happening. anything exposed to conductives with will work as long as it hasnt been turned on. i left my TV out in the rain, still works cause i let it dry before turning it on.
