router drivers / cd drive

This is my friend mike's question
we wanted to ask and didnt have time to sign up
he will sign up at a later time



mike -

i am in the process of setting up a router for my cousins. there cd drive is not working correctly. it is powered because the drive opens and closes, but it doesnt read discs, nor is it recongnized by the computer.
the computer is a gateway and the cd drive used to work
the computer hasnt been infected with any viruses or reformatted

i havnt looked at the computer but im almost 100% sure the drivers are installed maybe you guys could give him some ideas

Routers don't require drivers.

What's on the CD is just setup instructions...

the cd drive isnt working
thats what he wants to fix
and i cant figure it out... every thing seems to be connected correctly
