Hey,

I have a router that got given to me. I have an NTL connection using cable broadband. Now, how would I start to connect two PC's together using this?

The reason I want to do this is to connect 3D Studio Max up to more than 1 pc to speed up rendering times.

Is it just a case of getting the router, plugging it in. Gettng the main connection from the internet, and splitting it using the cables from the router? Or won't this allow me to do what I want?

I hope someone can help :) This type of computing confuses me :p

EDIT: I think I might of wrote this in wrong part... I'll correct in minute :p

Uumm, wel ive got the same, NTL broadband, just get the cable modem, plug into WAN port on router, then have cables from router to each pc, you have to switch EVERYTHING off on the network, then plug everything in, start with modem (wait 5 mins) then router (wait 5 mins) then switch on compuiters and it should just work
