Ripping and burning dvds

What are the best programs I should get to get for ripping dvds onto my computer and burning them?

Mpeg would be preferred, nothing like avi

Why not AVI?? If you use DivX or XviD encoding it'll fit a whole DVD into about 700MB.

Anyway, you can use DVD Decrypter:

I would use DVDshrink, its free and will do the whole thing for you unless the disc is encrypted, then you just need something like dvd decrypter aswell.

yh go for ANYDVD and if u know n e thing bout torrents its easy to get hold of

Yeah, you usually need DVD Decrypter though to circumvent the copyright protection on the DVDs.

Use DVD Decrypter, then if you like MPEG-4 use Videora to convert it to 640x480.

Using DVD shrink does that burn into a file acceptable for all DVD players?

Yes it does mate you just put the DVD in the drive open the folder and click Analise or something of that nature ( put a BLANK DVD into you burner first then run it). it will shrink the file then burn it on a DVD and it will play in your DVD player provided your player plays DVD-r or DVD+r disc's
