i never took the heatsink off. i had no fan on the case when i bought it then i bought one for $5 at the PX (see my sig) but then i noticed there isn't one on the heatsink so i took it back off the case and put it on the heatsink.

Yeah. What heatsink is it?
Must be a pretty good one to have been working without a fan, or you have very good circulation throughout your case...

I guess, but thats still high...but as long as its not overheating, its okay.

I advise if you have an Intel system, to maybe check out this heatsink/fan combo (Not sure on the Intels it runs on):

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835186134

That'll cool it down like theres no tommorow, and keep noise at a minimum too, plus should fit on using the default Intel bracket so you don't need to remove the motherboard.

Just check its compatible with your processor.

Artic Freezer though is great for cooling.
My Arctic Freezer 64 PRO (Same thing, but for AMD) is coming tommorow definietly, along with 3 very quiet case fans

Possibly, yeah.

Thats too high for AMD... though what AMD CPU have you got? If its an AMD 64, it'll be compatable with the one I'm getting.

Ah, in that case, the one I'm getting will work in your system

Heres a link to it, though you don't have to buy from there.

Its a shame that it doesn't seem to be there at CompUSA. At least on the website.

Heres a link to the manufacturers site anyway:

http://www.arctic-cooling.com/cpu2.php?idx=80

and a review:

http://www.frostytech.com/articlevie...id=1895&page=4

From a review I read, expect with sufficent cooling, a 18 degrees drop in temperature from the stock heatsink/fan (Probably even more so in your case)

As for the URL in your sig, it doesn't work...
