Default restore dvd

i have an emachines laptop i bought a while ago. i got a virus and couldn't seem to get rid of it so i reformatted and installed linux. i've been perfectly happy with that until now. i would like to play a few games and linux doesn't support them. the laptop came with a restore dvd. i was wondering if the dvd will restore the windows os and all programs to the computer or just the extra programs (microsoft works, word, etc.)? i'd really like to have windows back without having to buy a new copy.

So it Goes.

It will probably restore Windows. However, I'm sure if it doesn't you'll be able to tell before you actually have to do it.

Yeah, the Restore cd should give you a fresh install of Windows.

The restore CD will put your laptop back to the very same state as you got it. It will install the OS plus all extra software included by eMachines.
