Computer Shutting Off (Vista 32x)

My computer is taking on a stange new habit. Shutting off randomly throughout the day, or itll shut off while I am playing Guild Wars (which it used to run beauifully). No error, no dialog box, no blue screen, nothing. Click, black.

Here are my specs:
1 x GIGABYTE GA-MA78GM-S2H AM2+/AM2 AMD 780G HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail

1 x GIGABYTE GV-NX88T256HV1 GeForce 8800 GT 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Retail

1 x AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200 Brisbane 2.7GHz Socket AM2 65W Dual-Core Processor Model ADO5200DOBOX - Retail

1 x APEVIA ATX-CW500WP4 500W ATX Power Supply - Retail1 x CORSAIR 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model TWIN2X4096-6400C5 - Retail

1 x Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3500630AS 500GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Hard Drive - OEM

I honestly dont think its overheating, right now, after running it for a while than resetting it for BIOS setting, its running at:

Current System Temp: 38 C
CPU Temp: 46 C
CPU Fan: 2115 RPM

I tumbled into a forum where someone said there was a virus which would shut down a computer just like I described, but I wasn't sure if it was true. I mean there are viruses for everything, and my AVG hasnt found squat.

AreaNet (The Guild Wars Company), suggested after running a few programs to check the computer status, that it could be my RAM. I dont know if thats true since Ive had the computer for less than a year. You would hope it would last that long right?

Any ideas? Any help? I would love an opinion which means I dont have to replace my RAM.

It sounds a lot more like a PSU issue to me. When a power supply does not provide sufficient power, it will cause freezes and reboots often.

I would suggest testing the system with a new PSU.

He doesn't mean that 500 watt isn't enough, he just means that it might just be starting to fail

Weird, all my parts are less than a yr old. What would cause it to fail? And if I should change my power supply, should I look for a larger watt?

Btw, thank you everyone for responding to my posts! I should have said that before hehe.

For the question:
1 x APEVIA ATX-CW500WP4 500W ATX Power Supply - Retail

Thats my supply from NewEgg, sorry I forgot to copy that in before. Hopefully itll help pinpoint my problem.

Are you doing anything when it randomly shuts itself down?

Is this a complete power off or a shutdown/reboot kinda thing?

When I first noticed it, it was when I ws playing Guild Wars. I would log in, move my charc, and then youw ould hear a click then it shuts off (screen would just go black with no power).

Since the computer ran fine without me playing the game, I stopped playing. But now its doing it while like surfing the net, or watching an avi, doing a virus seach with AVG, its kinda random.

Hopefully thatll help! Thanks for the responces!
