Default resetting computer

I have windows XP professional and my computer is kinda acting funny. I was wondering if there was a way to reset my computer back to the way it was like on the fresh install without formatting and reinstalling windows?

Perhaps uninstalling everything, and setting system restore to the first point.

The only way to make it like a fresh install, is to do a fresh install.

That's what I would have suggested too. I think you should give the uninstalls and all that crap a try, but a fresh install is an entire reinstall. You don't need to format if you don't want to.
