Reset problems??

I have a problem with my mothers pc, though I'm really not sure what the problem could be.

First of you turn it on and it loads to tasks bar and it just flicks of, it ushally does it constantly 3 or 4 times before actually staying on. it's weird at first I thought of it as a overheating problem but then I thought, how could that be concidering I just turned it on.???

Loads to tasks bar? What is the tasks bar?

The task bar on the desktop, or the Windows XP boot logo...

The thing on the bottom is the taskbar.


Have you enabled transparancy via StyleXP?

Nice Linux there, I know what the Taskbar is, but I didnt know what he meant.

Can you get into Control Panel>System?

It's when the windows taskbar loads up, just about as everything loads it flicks of, basicly it restarts, I does it 3 to 4 times before actually staying on.

It's really weird as I do not know how it getscaused because I have never encoutred this problem before, has anyone else ever had this and what could be casuing this to happan.
