The ATI 4890 is basically a re-engineered 4870. Its a board that they've gone back to the drawing board with, using faster memory, and changing the design slightly to allow for higher clock speeds.

Its around £30 more than the usual 4870, but allows around an extra 10%-15% speed in games compared to its sibling.
For £30 more, I'd probably be tempted with it, because an extra few 5-10fps can mean a game going from unplayable to playable

It'd run everything you threw at it for sure. I only have a 1680x1050 monitor, and I'd be happy to play games with 2x antialising, but this card can run games at 1900+ with 8-16x antialising, no problem.
