Removing networks

I recently tried to install a network between 2 computers using ethernet cards and what I believe to be the correct cable but it didn't work. I now want to completey remove the network software from both computers. Both are running XP pro. Any ideas how I can do this?

Doesn't really matter; uninstall the Network Programs if you did anything like that, and delete the Network Connection in the Network Connection Box; but being that I wouldn't know.
