remote desktop connection

i have a desktop running windows media center edition 2005, and a laptop running windows xp home. when i'm using the laptop's remote desktop connection to connect to the media center desktop, it works. but when i use the desktop's remote desktop connection and type in the computer name, it doesn't work. i'm tryping the name of the computer in correctly, so i don't know whats happeneing.

So your trying to connect to the computer, via the computer through Remote Desktop, or trying to connect from laptop to computer..?
