Default remote computer software

so im off to uni and want to access my home pc over the web incase my parents mess it up lol. i tried logmein, and whilst it worked ages ago, this time is appears to be working but on my pc theres a box on the screen with some sort of error message. i googled and if you install it over remote desktop (like i did) that could cause problems. i guess installing normally might work, but is it really the best out there?

There's that program from Microsoft, I forget what it's called. I'm going to try and remember/look for it. I think you have to pay though.

realvnc.com just get the free version. you have to open up port 5900 on your router for whatever computer you are hosting the vnc server on (the pc you want to control)
