reinstalling windows on a partition

I need to reinstall Windows XP on a hard drive with 2 partitions. If I delete the C drive partition and then create a new one, will it be called the C still or will the other partition be moved up and named C? Is this how you reinstall it? And, I won't lose any data on the partition without Windows, right?

the partion you are running windows off of will always be called "C" so when i dual boot my XP and Vista, what ever version i'm running has teh "C" drive and the other is teh "F" drive. when i boot into the other, they are switched.

the data on your other partion should be intact. but im not too sure bout that.

o, thanks. I deleted the partition with Windows XP on it and then recreated it. It looks like it kept everything intact on the other half of the partition but I'll check it when I'm done to be sure.

Yeah that wil be fine, all data on the other partition will be ok
