Default recommended house hold printer

only because I have to, I need to replace my HP Deskjet 3940. This printer has been amazing, as far as basic ink jet printers go.

I would have liked to replace it with another HP, but some of the reviews I've read are not very encouraging.

I'm not doing anything fancy. limited photo printing, a couple of docs here and there, its mostly just so the kids can print out stuff to color.

like to here what you are using, or what you all would recommended.

thanks

Don't buy an ink jet.
Buy a lazer.

? Laser printers are only cost effective for large offices or people who do massive amounts of document printing.

OP, what is your budget? I recommend Epson printers, but I cannot really tell you which model to look for without knowing how much you want to spend. I have a workforce 600 for general printing and an artisan 810 for photos. Both are excellent printers.

I'd like something that will last. and where and ink doesn't cost more than the printer itself.
If i was doing B/W, I might look into a laser printer. budget is whatever I think the best deal is.
but I do want a printer with a separate black cartridge.

I'll look into Epson, Thanks
