I've never heard of a labtop. I've only ever heard them called laptops.

Right now I am pretty sure it does not start due to a broken battery and pretty much all of the components need replacing. I will post later tonight with the exact model and component list but for now I would just like to know if anyone has any expierence rebuilding notebooks like this one. Any help is appreciated. I have some expierence building a desktop but this could be a bit tricky seeing as it is an older notebook and is no longer functional. Im putting my budget at about 200$ right now but that could go up depending on what I hear in this thread I dont want to go any higher than 300$ though. Let me know what you think.
Your wanting to dodge the NSA in particular I find disturbing. That should have raised a red flag with the staff and members here.
Sounds like you're a hacker, or maybe you're in to kiddie porn...

Or perhaps he's extremely cautious and doesn't want to get caught downloading torrents etc.

Still not legal and not something we encourage
