I have found this program called Rebate Catcher on my hard drive.

a) the program is almost 3 GB

b) when i go to remove this program it comes up saying
"warning, be careful the uninstaller might also delete rebate catchersettings and data directories plz back up the data which is stored in sub directories in rebate catcher and it uninstalling in ghost mode"

Anyone got any ideas as to what i should do.

Is this a program you installed yourself!
A good way is too install a registry cleaner, jv16 is very easy to use and you should be able to get all the registry keys out and then easily delete the program right out of windows explorer; here is a download site > check Download section:
