No, they physically change the way the pixel engine is built or runs, then SLi won't work. You better start saving and buy that damn card fast!

Well I was looking at my parts when I saw that the price of the mobo went up to $200 so I went to pricewatch and was looking for the same mobo cheaper. I'm not sure if this is the same thing but it has the same features. Check it out. Cheap too.

Ok, I know this is an old thread so don't flame me. I didn't want to start a new thread.

Ok, here's what I got:

AMD Athlon 64 3500+ Winchester Integrated into Chip FSB 512KB L2 Cache Socket 939 Processor http://www2.newegg.com/Product/Produ...82E16819103494
$263

Motherboard - Microstar K8N Neo4 SLI Socket 939 AMD Athlon 64 DDR http://www.compu-terra.com/store/product2281.html
$148

MSI Geforce 6600GT 128MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI-Express x16 Video Card
http://www2.newegg.com/Product/Prod...N82E16814127147

$188

Patriot 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM Unbuffered DDR 400 (PC 3200) System Memory http://www2.newegg.com/Product/Produ...82E16820220006
$130

Raidmax Aluminum Silver Front Astro-268 Case with Power Supply http://www.edazz.com/raalplascawp.html
$72

Western Digital 80 GB Hard Drive
Best Buy
$20

Samsung / 52x32x52x CD-RW / 16x DVD-ROM / Beige OEM Combo Drive with Software http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...216713&CatId=0
$40

Total: $861

Now I was thinking of either updating the processor to this:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103465

or this:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103531

OR

I might upgrade the graphics card to this:

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...Tab=2&NoMapp=0

Of course I don't have to change anything and leave it as it is.

This is a lot harder than it appears.

I think your doing what I did.. and now I'm fixing it before I die..
And that is, you want the best of the best and you go and you try to get the best.. but just get whats good..

Because in reality, the best changes alot.. and someone who tries getting the best will likely go bankrupt.. lol.

Anyway, good luck to you.. looks good but I'd advise you to stick with the 3500 unless you really want a stronger processor. Also, the 6600GT should do fine.
