on your laptop is it possible to mess with voltages at all? i've seen an occasional few taht will allow this. If it is possible, why not undervolt your RAM and processor, that would make them slower/unstable causing crashes, freezes and the rest of the works.

yeah i can do that on my laptop , it is only for the stepping tech but if you put the voltage down enough the laptop will just bsod you to death and when you take it to an it tech they may not realise what the prob is unless they think to look at voltages which most wouldnt

the esiest, and quickest way with out downloading a program would be to look in bios. There is a chance taht you laptop will not show this, simply because most pre-built laptops don't offer OC ablility, which involves voltage changing/monitering.
