This is Windows XP, so I have to ask. How much RAM has she got at the moment? You might not want to go over ~3.5 GB. Also, which motherboard?

You need to give the Motherboard because that will determine what kind of RAM it can support.

Twardy, no need to provide further information unless this is a different computer than the one you mentioned. The Powermate VL350 uses this type of RAM:

Newegg.com - Mushkin Enhanced Silverline 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Desktop Memory Model 996754

That's a good one to purchase and upgrade her rig with. As mentioned above, though, XP will only recognize about 3.5GB of useable RAM. Don't go over 3.5 or 4GB max.
