Default RAM upgrade

hey im helping my friend upgrade his ram. the board is a Dell 0JC474, but i cant find what the memory standard is. his old ram was DDR2 533 (PC2 4200).

i was wondering if 800 or even 667 will run? thanks.

EDIT: or will the ram just downclock to what the board is running?

Default Re: RAM upgrade

You can run any speed you want. If the speed is faster than the board speed it will simply downclock.
