have you checked your ram speed in the bios...? mine showed up as pc-2900 (I know, weird right...?), then I checked the bios and saw that it was running at 333 mhz instead of 667, once I changed it in the bios, it showed up as pc-5300...

which leads me to believe that pcwizard, cpu-z, etc..., will show what it's actually running at instead of what it can run at...

I may be wrong, but it worked for me...

2 theories....

1. Are you sure your motherboard supports DDR2-1000? Not sure that many do..

2. If it does, in the BIOS, under Ram Timings or settings etc, there should be a speed setting, set it appropriatly

What motherboard have you got?

Matt

i've got a p5b deluxe i can set my ram manually theres options for like ddr2 800 something or 900 something then like ddr2 1066

If it's on auto....when your POST comes up what speed does it come up there? If it's not 1000 or close to it, maybe try setting it manually to 966 or whatever you said?

Matt

ya i set it to ddr2 1067 in the bios now, now in cpu-z it says PC2 6400 still...frquency 533 MHz it was on auto before

edit- I changed it down from ddr2 1067 in the bios to ddr2 889, and the frequency changed from 533 mhz to 444 mhz so somethings gotta be changing...its just not showing it maybe

Try shooting an email to Crucial. I'm sure they can help you with your questions. Their customer service is excellent. :D

What is the part number for your memory? The Crucial site lists BL2KIT6464AL804 for the PC2-6400 and BL2KIT6464AL1005 PC2-8000.

k I sent Crucial an e-mail we will see what they say then I'll report back, but either way I'm happy because before my comp just kept shutting down when I tried to oc it, but now i'm at 3ghz steady hovering around 56-57*C under load
