RAM Question

I'm upgrading my system right now:

Specs Before:
Core 2 Duo E3400 1.8Ghz per core
Generic Gateway Motherboard (whatever it's called)
2GB DDR2 533 RAM
ATI Radeon x1600 Pro 512MB

Specs After:
Core 2 Duo E4300 1.8Ghz per core (I'm going to overclock)
GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX Intel Motherboard
2GB DDR2 533 RAM
GeForce 8800 GT 512GB

So my new system will be moderately decent, but should I upgrade my RAM to DDR2 800 or something? I don't know how much the speed of RAM will affect my overall performance.

If you have the money I would say upgrade to 800 mhz. Ram nowadays is very cheap, shouldn't cost you much.

If you have the money you could upgrade but, depending on the brand, you should be able to overclock it to DDR400 (800MHz)
