Ram purchase

Hi all,

New to site so apologies if posting in wrong place.....

Anyway, i'm looking to upgrade my ram, although there being so many different types available now I'm not sure which to get. I've checked my mother board compatability which states that it supports PC100 SDRAM. So does that mean I cannot use PC133 or higher SDRAM etc?

I have done some benchmark testing and I get around 495MB/s mem reads and 142MB/s writes. I would like to at least double these figures. As well as increasing the overall ram from 128MB to 512MB.

Any ideas?

computer is a PIII 866 (i810 chipset)

if your motherboard doesn't say it supports PC133 it will not.

you may wish to upgrade your computer to support DDR Ram.
